FISHING BOAT – An Improvisation And Invention By Teacher Regina

Bartók said that the piano is a percussion instrument…hence the use of the mallet stick.

The pentatonic scale is applied for symbolizing the Chinese fishing boat out at sea for a good catch. Gosh !!! A little storm came with lightning bolt and thunder and the villagers experienced a somewhat atonal encounter resonated by the church modes chords and thirds.

All’s well that ends well when the drizzle stopped and the fishermen delighted in their deserving harvest. Praise be to God for the providence !

For so many years, I have seen and groomed many budding pianists into virtuosos, some of them becoming concert stage performers and some completing their Diplomas in piano performance and have gone on to be piano teachers teaching piano lessons themselves.
